Fried Vegetarian Bee Hoon

I made this vegetarian bee hoon for our picnic on Sunday in Pasir Ris beach.
Ingredients added: dried tau kee, french beans, fish cakes, carrot strips, bean sprouts, dried prawns (grago) & shredded omelette! Definitely not forgetting my packet of chilli padi to go along with it!!!

Babi Asam - Pork Braised in Tamarind Sauce


Just give me a plate of rice and that'll be sufficient to go along with my Babi Assam......I love the assam flavour and dipping the babi in sambal belachan!
Pork belly, taucheo, assam, rempah, green/red chillies are added to this recipe.
My gram's loves to julienne the green chillies and makan with prawn paste (the rojak sauce). We, Peranakans enjoy eating with our hands, it adds more flavour to the food!

Tauhu Masak Titik-Spicy Beancurd & Salted Fish Soup

This is another Peranakan soup - salted ikan kurau bones were added to the stock.
Sometimes, meatballs (pork & prawns) were added to the soup.
Another similar peranakan soup is Buah Paya Masak Titik.
